Bountiful Basket...Yum

This week's basket.  This was a regular basket.

I am so glad I decided to try this!
Now I have read some posts and blogs where people say they don't think this is that good of a deal, but I would definitely have to disagree.  All of this for $16.50 seems pretty good to me.  Last time we went to buy strawberries at the grocery store they were almost $4.00.  Plus the quality of this is a lot better than what we normally find here.  We eat a lot of broccoli and cauliflower.  The cauliflower we buy in the store is generally fairly brown.  There isn't a spot of brown on this head.

Now last week we tried the organic basket, while I like the idea that it is healthier and it was much easier to pick up as it came in it's own box, no laundry basket required it did not seem to have as much stuff in it and it had more things that we wouldn't normally buy if we went to the store.  However I have now discovered broccolette and think it is awesome.  I am guessing though that we will continue with the regular baskets.  If they continue to be like this week's basket I know we will be doing this every week!

Last week's organic basket.

Easter 2011

We had a wonderful Easter.

Kassi went to her first big Easter hunt.  I guess since I do not ever remember going to these as a child I was not sure what to expect.  It was kind of like Halloween without all the walking and work getting in a costume.  Oh well she enjoyed it.  She was really excited when we saw some friends of ours there too.

This year the Easter Bunny decided to scale back on the basket a little and brought Kassi a great little gardening bag which she loves.  It had new tools for her garden and a few little pots with seeds to grow some more veggies.

Just some pictures...

The Easter Bunny

I'll start by mentioning that we took Kassi to the movie "HOP" a week ago.  In the movie the main character's name is EB, and of course he is to be the Easter Bunny.

Tuesday I stayed home with the flu.  In the afternoon Kassi and I were in the basement and I noticed something moving in the window well.  It was a baby bunny.  I showed Kassi the bunny and told her that when daddy came home we could get him out of there.  Instantly she asked if it was EB.  She asked if he would talk to her and what he was doing here.

So we get the poor scared baby out of the window well and Kassi is still determined it is EB so she gets him a carrot and we put him down.  Later he hops off.

Wednesday morning she gets out of bed and runs to the living room.  "Mommy did he leave my Easter basket?"  I think about it for a minute..."you know, because EB was here."  "Well if he didn't leave my basket then what do you think he was doing here."  Me: "Well I bet he was getting familiar with his route and checking in on you."  That seemed to be a satisfying enough answer for her.  That evening she was still convinced the Easter bunny came to visit her before Easter.
