Organizing Babies

I had to laugh at our baby yesterday morning. After she got up she asked me for one of her dolls. Now to give a little background...We keep her cradle in her room full of dolls and stuffed animals, all of which are Kassi's "babies". She also has a big batch of them that stay in the living room. Now with the exception of her three favorites, Bubba, Annie and Panda, one never knows who she is going to want to keep where. Some days she trades them out and keeps certain ones in the living room, or carries them everywhere with her for the day and some days she puts some back in her cradle.

Yesterday morning however I was in for a big surprise when she asked for one of her dolls. She started out asking to take a baby with her to the potty. So I handed her one of her baby dolls. Apparently I did not hand her the right one because she gave it a hug and laid it on the blanket that was on the floor and asked for a baby. So again I handed her one of her baby dolls and she gave it a hug and laid it on the blanket also. So to spare you the details of every doll and stuffed animals departure from the cradle I will just leave you with a picture of what ended up happening...
Yes, every animal and doll ended up out of the cradle and on the blanket. Kassi then told Bubba, Annie and Panda to sit and all four (her included) sat on the pile of babies in the middle of the floor. The good news is she finally picked one and went in to use the potty. A little later I asked if we could clean up her room and she went back in and proceeded to put everyone back in the cradle where they belonged. With the exception of a little purple dog that she decided to carry around all day yesterday, today I don't know where the purple dog is!

Fun at the Park

It was such a nice day last Saturday that we took Kassi over to the park to play. She played ball, chase and helped to fly a kite. It is so nice just being able to walk across the street and have this huge area that she can run around in.

Fashion Girl

The other day we noticed Kassi trying to wear her pony tail holders as bracelets. I am not sure where she has seen anyone wearing bracelets as no one that I can think of wears them, but she was adamant that they were bracelets. So when we went to the store this weekend she saw a bunch of bracelets and kept asking for them. We decided what would be the harm. We will keep them put up and only let her play with them when we are right there with her. I wasn't sure she actually knew what they were for, but as soon as we pulled them out of the package she started putting them on. At first she was asking her dada to help her then she got it figured out! She would put one on and show us and say ooh. Then when she had them all on she would take them off and start over again.

Poor Fishy Two

Some of you may know that Kassi has had two pet goldfish for over a month now. Every morning she gets up and tells me we need to feed her fish. She does this every day when we get home from work also. She also counts them for us and tells everyone she has two fish. Well today when we got home from work we had a floater. I knew the day would come that we would have to replace the fish, fortunately she was not home and was spending the night with grandma and grandpa so Wes and I ran to Walmart really quick and picked out a fish that looked just like the one that was in her tank. While we were standing there explaining to the guy helping us that we really needed an all orange fish I realized we were becoming the parents who try to hide or replace the missing pet before the child knows anything has happened.

Okay so she is only 1.5, but I know that little girl looks forward to seeing her fish everyday and I can only hope that she will not realize the new fish has black fins and is not all orange like the other one was. I am not sure what the man heard when I said as along as he is all orange I do not care, why I didn't look closer at the fish before we got out to the car I am not sure either. So now here I am thinking I really hope she doesn't realize this fish has black fins and the fish that was in there before she went to grandma and grandpas did not. This seems so silly to be worrying about, but I can now see why parents do these silly things we want nothing more than to protect our children.

So there are once again two fish in Kassi's tank. Now when she gets home tomorrow and wants to feed and count her fish she will still be able to count two fish. I am just very glad this happened when she was not here and I did not have to try and reason with a 1.5 year old on why I was putting fishy in the toilet and flushing!
