New Pets

Well Kassi's first fish died this past week. She was a little upset that there was not any fish in her tank to feed. When we went to Walmart that was want she wanted to look at so we decided to let her pick out a couple of new ones. While she likes her bows and dresses I think she is going to be a tom boy. Her choice of new tank pets were a frog, two fish and a crab! The guy helping us said that the frog and crab are escape artists and will get out of the tank. So far day two of them being home we are okay. I will admit though that all night long I dreamt about the crab getting out and biting me on the toe! We will see how long these four new pets last. I have a feeling as she gets older our list of pets is just going to keep growing.

Big Horns, Wes' Birthday

We spent the 7th, 8th and 9th on the Big Horns with part of Wes' family. We had a lot of fun and saw a lot wildlife. Wes bought Kassi her first fishing pole and we took her fishing for a little bit each day. She didn't catch anything, but that was okay. I think she had more fun feeding the ducks that were at the lake than fishing.

Butterfly

Just thought I'd share this picture.

A Great Week

Wes and I were able to spend a week with someone so very dear to us. It has been several years since we had any contact with her, but we never stopped loving her and thought about her every day. See if we hadn't been so young at the time and I had been braver and knew how to fight the battle we knew we would have faced she would have been a permanent part of our family when she was 11. As often happens when people move away from each other we lost touch. A day has not gone by that I didn't think about her and hope and pray that she was doing well. As far as I was concerned she was my kid, I loved her as though she were our daughter.

Finally I decided that I had to find her again and had to know how she was doing. So even though I never thought I'd use it or like it...I logged in to FaceBook and found her. We knew right away that we had to fly her home. I wanted her to meet Kassi and to spend time with her once again. I was so happy to see Candy when we picked her up at the airport. It is so hard to believe that she is 18 already.

We had a wonderful week while she was here. We spent time four wheeling, shooting, took a trip to Yellowstone and just hung out. It was so wonderful to have her here, and we are so very proud of her. Kassi loves her and had a great time with her. We cannot wait until her next visit.
