Kas' Camping List

As we were getting things ready to put in the camper I asked Kassi if she could help me make a list of the things we needed to remember. Here's her list...
1. My little player, you know mom for my movies, and movies to go in it.
2. My colors.
3. A ball.
4. Annie and Bubba (For those who don't know these are her favorite stuffed animals.)
5. Nina and Daisey
6. Some of my friends. (I think she meant both the real ones and her stuffed animals which she calls her friends.)
7. Mom don't forget food.
8. Me
9. Daddy
10. You of course Mommy, don't forget you.

Yellowstone

I sure do love these two!

Just like mom always taking pictures.

The whole reason we went to Yellowstone...Kassi wanted to see volcano's that didn't have lava in them.

The other reason we went...because Kassi wanted to see buffalo.

Too far away, but it was kind of cool.

I should have put down a coin to show how big this ant is. The pine needles next to it are full size. Kassi ran right over and picked it up. I made her throw it down because I was afraid it would bite her. That night she had nightmares that something was biting her...gotta be more careful about how I phrase things.

This fire started while we were there. We had driven by and didn't see anything then the wind started to blow and within minutes the whole sky was black.

I love it when we get a good picture of the three of us!

Spoiled Puppy

So cute! The second baby in the family.

Happenings

I know it has been a little while since I have actually posted updates of what and how everyone is doing.

So here goes nothing...
It has been a crazy busy fire season and Wes has been going nonstop to fire calls. For whatever reason this year the number of car and motorcycle wrecks in the area has been really high. Work has been pretty busy as well. We had some changes in command and some vacancies which is going to put Wes doing some work with the Streets crew this summer. Wes is still going forward with getting his master technician ASE certification. I am so proud of him. He has also been very busy with Nina. She is a good puppy and I think will really turn out to be an excellent dog. Matter of fact I would suspect that in a few years we will contact the breeder again for another pup.

I keep busy with Kassi and work. This summer has been horrible on my asthma which really stinks because it keeps me from being able to do as much and is hard to keep up with Kassi as well as I would like to. It also makes me very tired and I feel bad because I know I don't get as much done around the house as I should and I don't get to spend as much time with Wes because I am falling asleep with Kassi when she goes to bed. I am so thankful for LuAnn being at the house though during the days. She is not only wonderful to have around for Kassi, but she helps me keep the house presentable. As some know I signed up for Faceboook which I was very skeptical of. I have however been able to connect with some old friends and am really enjoying getting to know them again. While I may not like all things having to with applications I am glad to be able to reconnect with a couple of people who meant a whole lot to me as a kid. It's funny because I don't even remember how or why we lost touch, but it is great to hear from them again.

Kassi is growing like a weed. Since the summer started I think she has grown almost 2"! I am trying to get her closet swapped out to her size four clothes as the 3Ts are getting kind of small. She is such a sociable little girl and really loves to be around and talk to others. She is a lot like Wes in that aspect. Animals are still her most favorite thing and I think she would be happiest if we had one of everything. Her most common sayings now are "can I hug you forever?", "what can I do to help you?", and "I just love you sooooo much.". That little girl brings so much joy to our lives. I knew being a mom would be wonderful, but it is so much more than that.

Kassi has also decided she wants to go and meet the Disney princesses so Wes and I have started saving for a trip to Disneyland. Kassi is so excited. It will likely take us a couple of years as I don't want to pull money from savings or "charge" it, but we will get there. My hope is to get there while she is still young enough to really believe in the characters and all of the "magic". So if anyone has been there and has any advice pleas shoot it my way!
