Baby Girl, Not So Much

Over the past few weeks Wes and I have been talking about how Kassi has grown up so much over what seems like just a few days. This week it has really become evident that she is no longer a baby. That seems weird because she will always be our baby, but she is turning into this really great little girl.

She finally has enough hair that I am able to put it into french braids. It is still really fine and they don't stay in very long, but it is possible, and she even holds still while I braid it!
She has also begun to imitate things that we do or that she sees the neighborhood kids do. The other day I asked if she needed some water and she said "yes" so I gave it to her in a regular cup. Once she drank what was in it she came back with the cup and her "Annie" and gave me the sign for water. Thinking Annie was just tagging along I told she had better set her down so she could drink her water. Well she told me "NO" and said "Annie" and gave the sign for water again. As the water was dripping from Annie down to a large puddle on the floor I realized the water was not for Kassi, oh no it was for Annie. Then she decided all of her animals needed water, mom was little smarter this time and just put one small drop in the cup.

So then last night I went to put her in her crib...I laid her down with her Annie and Bubba and went leave the room and I heard "Mama, Not Yet". I thought no she didn't just say that. So I went back into her room and rubbed her back so she would go to sleep. As I went to leave again she said "not yet", "not yet". This continued several times until mom gave in and I decided I may get more sleep if I just brought her to bed with us. So there is our dark secret, mom gives in a lot and brings her to bed instead of staying up with her.

I guess I just have to admit it, Baby Girl is not so much a baby girl anymore, but a Little Girl.
