Free Time

Free time...what is it?  I don't seem to find as much of it as I used to.  Technically right now I could say I have some free time so I decided to blog...but actually I don't have the free time, because I should be putting away the three loads of laundry I just washed, emptying the dishwasher or many other things which need done around here.  I guess I have finally reached a point where I accept that my house is not perfect and enjoy spending the time I can with my beautiful family.

Tonight Wes is teaching his rookies at the Fire Hall, Kassi is having a sleep over at Grandma and Grandpas and I am thinking of all the things I should be doing, but really don't want to do right now.  Instead I'd rather sit here and update everyone on what my family is up to.

Wes, as I said, is still busy with the Fire Department.  He hopes to finish his officer classes this year.  He is Rookie Trainer again this year.  He survived his time in Texas and doesn't care to go back there again unless he has too.  (I don't think we will ever be taking a vacation in that part of the country!)  He will take additional ASE tests this spring/summer with the hopes of going forward and getting becoming a master technician.  He has been taking Nina out hunting as much as he can, and is very pleased with how she is working out.

Nina has turned into a pretty good dog.  She will be a year in April.  Everyone said to figure she would be in complete puppy mode until she was at least three.  I think she has calmed down a bunch here recently though.  She does really good with her commands.  She goes in her kennel when you tell her to, in the living room she goes to her bed when you tell her to and she has begun listening to Kassi when she tells her down or to sit.  She still gets a little wound up with Kassi when they get to playing so we are trying to teach her and teach Kassi to tell her down.

Kassi seems to have turned into a little adult overnight.  It seems like she has just suddenly grown up.  She amazes me all the time with her vocabulary, memory and just general knowledge.  For only being three she knows a lot of different things.  She is doing really well with her addition and subtraction.  I think she enjoys her dance class and is kind of excited to have her recital in May.  Lately her request has been for a baby brother or sister and of course I always have to break it to her that nope, that just is not going to happen.  I do however encourage her new "grown up" plans of becoming a doctor!

As usual I don't really have much to update on my side.  My asthma still continues to be out of control and I really think it stinks, but I also don't want to take the medication they would give me to help get it back on track, so I guess I will just live with it for now.   For those of you who know her I have an update on Candy, she graduates from Army Basic Training in mid February.  I am so proud of her.
